Student Short Term Missions

"How then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?"
Romans 10:14
World Map "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to sendout workers into his harvest field."
Matthew 9:37-38

Has the Lord given you a passion to serve people of another culture and share the news of Christ's love for them? Do you want to discover how the Lord can use your veterinary skills to help train others so they can better care for the needs of their animals and their community?  We have all been called to carry out the Great Commission.  Becoming involved in a short-term project is just one of many ways the Lord can use you to carry out Hiis global mandate for missions.

Getting Started

There are two routes for planning a student mission trip:

  1. Organizing a group from your school
  2. Going as an individual

All students need to submit a short term application in order to begin the screening process.  Once you have been approved for short term service, and submit the one-time application fee ($50 for students), you will receive...

  • Emails announcing future short short term opportunities
  • CVM's bimonthly journal, the "Christian Veterinarian"
  • The "Outreach Herald", a monthly email devotional
  • Access to member portions of our new website, which contain postings and details about future short term trips

APPLY NOW for a short term mission trip

Financial Information:

The short term program is self-funded by the participant, usually with assistance from churches, family, friends, and veterinary colleagues.  Those who wish to support a trip can do so with a tax-deductible gift to CVM, designated for the trip participant (or school group).  These gifts are used to cover expenses incurred during the mission project.

A Trip Deposit of $200 is required for each student participating in a short term project through CVM. This will reserve your place on a specific mission trip and go towards your total CVM trip costs. Services provided for CVM participants include:

  • Purchase of medical evacuation insurance for the time you serve internationally with us.
  • An information packet addressing requirements for your location of service.
  • Accounting and receipting for funds raised and expenses incurred.

The following locations are sites where students served on short term projects through CVM during the past school year.
